“Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” by Christopher Durang won the Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play in 2013. It is a comedy about a dysfunctional sibling trio: a brother and two sisters. Vanya and Sonia live together in the old family home, and they gave up everything to take care of their now deceased parents. Masha, their glamorous sister, and her actor boyfriend Spike, swoop in with plans to sell the house, leaving Vanya and Sonia with nothing. Luckily they have a young neighbor, Nina, and a clairvoyant housekeeper, Cassandra, on their side.
Auditions will be held Tuesday, December 6, at 7-9 p.m.; Wednesday, December 7, at 6-8 p.m.; and Thursday, December 8 at 6-8 p.m. in Kulas Auditorium. Scripts are available for signing out in OC 45.
Four women and two men are needed. The show’s production dates are March 31, April 1, 7, 8, and 9.
