Social Media Intern Needed for JCU Men’s Soccer

The OAC Champion JCU Men’s Soccer team is looking for a social media intern for this year’s upcoming season.

Position Summary:

As part of the Managerial Staff, the JCU men’s soccer social media manager will assist with all aspects of the programs social media efforts on a day-to-day basis – including content creation, community management, 1:1 fan engagement, and strategic plan development and implementation.

This position will proactively lead, create, and manage content on JCU men’s soccer social platforms. He/she will collaborate with all relevant departments including content production, digital/web, video services, photography, and marketing to deliver and execute successful social tactics that align with JCU men’s soccer overall digital media strategy.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist in creating innovative, entertaining content (including but not limited to Facebook posts, Tweets, GIFs, Snaps, images and short format videos) to engage consumers across social channels while maintaining Blue Streak brand voice.
  • Assist in building and aligning content strategy, team coverage, and team communications on across all social media platforms.
  • Provide coverage for both home and away JCU men’s soccer games (may require some travel).
  • Help build and manage both long and short term social editorial calendar.
  • Drive integrated content ideation from concept to completion across all platforms.
  • Monitor best practices and trends in organic and branded social media, effectively communicate relevant news and opportunities to internal teams.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Experience with social media (mainly Facebook, Twitter and Instagram).

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated experience driving fan engagement across multiple social channels.
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with a HS or collegiate sports is a plus.
