Human Resources is pleased to announce the development of JCU FIT (Fitness, Involvement & Total Well-Being) that will launch on March 1. This new innovative wellness program is funded with a $20,000 grant from Medical Mutual of Ohio and will be available to all full and part-time faculty and staff, as well as all part-time faculty.
Last December, over 275 employees responded to a comprehensive wellness engagement survey that was administered by the Human Resources Department. Since then, a Wellness Committee comprised of faculty and staff employees have been working together to develop specific programs in response to the survey results. MetroHealth Medical Center is also supporting JCU FIT by providing access to an interactive wellness portal that will guide employees though programming and incentives to help maintain a healthy lifestyle.
To help promote the March 1 kickoff of the JCU FIT employee wellness program, all employees have been invited to participate in the Go Move Challenge during the Month of February. To date, 172 JCU employees logged over 115,000 fitness minutes in this friendly wellness competition with other Jesuit universities. It’s not too late to register at www.gomovechallenge.org. As an extra incentive, all employees who log at least 250 Go Move Challenge minutes by March 1, will receive points that will count towards incentives in the JCU FIT wellness program. In addition, the top five employees who log the most Go Move Challenge minutes will also receive a Fit Bit.
If you have any questions about the Go Move Challenge or the JCU FIT employee wellness program, please contact your Human Resources Representative. Thank you for helping to promote employee wellness and well-being at John Carroll University.
