Today: Oliver Rafferty to speak on ‘Famine, Migration, and God’

Please join us Wednesday, March 29, at 7 p.m. in Rodman A, when the Gerard Manley Hopkins Chair in English Literature welcomes Oliver Rafferty to campus to speak on “Famine, Migration, and God:” Ireland’s Great Famine and Religious Responses.

Oliver Rafferty is a Jesuit priest and native of Belfast, Northern Ireland. He graduated with a master’s degree and doctorate from Oxford University, where he was also senior tutor at Campion Hall. He is professor of Modern Irish and Ecclesiastical History at Boston College. His latest book is “Violence, Politics and Catholicism in Ireland.”
