Please join the CTL and CDM for our final Lunch and Learn session on “Flipped Classrooms,” Thursday, April 20, 11:30 a.m., CAS Dean’s Conference Room. Lunch will be served. Please RSVP to Pat Hoffman (phoffman@jcu.edu).
Presented last year, this presentation is back by popular demand! In ‘flipped’ classrooms, content traditionally delivered inside the classroom (often by lecture) is delivered outside the classroom (often via video streaming). Class time, instead, is dedicated to problem-solving of the sort typically associated with homework.
Faith Whitworth and Mike Nichols will present descriptions of, and their experiences with, flipping the general chemistry lab and organic chemistry lecture courses. Some data and observations about how implementing this pedagogy affects student learning and outcomes will be shared.
