Please join us on Wednesday, October 11 from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in the O’Dea room for an informal talk and discussion with Ms. Jennifer Heemstra, recipient of the Secretary of State Award for Outstanding Volunteerism Abroad.
She will be discussing her work in India organizing the Kolkata Classics and Hathor Health Series, which combined a classical music concert series with free medical and social services to women and children trapped in intergenerational prostitution or sex-trafficking.
This event is co-sponsored by the JCU Liturgical Music and Musical Arts, the Gender, Sexuality & Women’s Studies program, and the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion. For questions or more information, please contact Cynthia Caporella at ccaporella@jcu.edu or Medora Barnes at mbarnes@jcu.edu
