Wanted: Strong Writers and Good Communicators!
Students of all majors who enjoy writing and connecting with other students are encouraged to consider future work as a Writing Center consultant. Enrolling in EN 290 (Tutoring Writing across Contexts) is the first step in your training; scheduled for T/Th 9:30-10:45 a.m. during spring semester, this course will help you learn about the history and practices behind writing center work. You will also spend 10 weeks in a practicum session, shadowing current consultants and learning about effective techniques for working with your peers at JCU.
To faculty: please talk with students who you believe would be strong consultants! This is a beneficial experience for ant student, not just English majors.
