The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI) is in search of sophomores, juniors, and seniors to be student panelists for the 2017-18 LGBTQ+ Speakers Panel.
Since 2011, the LGBTQ+ Speakers Panel has educated a variety of audiences through storytelling. Most storytelling sessions occur in a classroom setting and typically feature 3 to 6 panelist. All storytelling sessions begin with ground rules, LGBTQ+ terminology, panelist vignettes, and a question and answer segment moderated by the CSDI Director. Panelist vignettes aim to bring attention to issues affecting LGBTQ+ communities in and outside JCU.
Past panelist have expressed a deep sense of accomplishment and contribution in helping make JCU a welcoming campus through storytelling. The LGBTQ+ Speakers Panel has a long legacy of helping make JCU a better place for students of all sexual orientations, genders, gender identities, and gender identity expressions. However, we still have a long way to go…and we need your help!
To be part of this year’s LGBTQ+ Panel, please email Salomon Rodezno at srodezno@jcu.edu by Friday, October 27, 2017 for more information.
