On Tuesday, January 16th at 7 p.m., the John Carroll chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists will be hosting a panel to help students understand how to gain access to accurate information. Panelists will give their experience and advice on this topic.
Panelists include:
1. Dan Cooney, 2013 Meet the Press Fellow, Social Media Editor at PBS NewsHour
2. Ashley Bastock, 2015 Meet the Press Fellow, Editor at NEO Sports Insiders
3. David Marburger, attorney for The Plain Dealer and expert on access to government information
4. Dr. Colin Swearingen, JCU political science professor
Moderator: Dr. Carrie Buchanan, JCU journalism professor
Additionally, Cooney and Bastock will share some of their experiences as Meet the Press fellows. Students interested in applying for the Meet the Press fellowship must apply by Tuesday, February 6, 2018.
The event begins at 7 p.m. in the LSC Conference Room in the Student Center. Chicken tenders and mozzarella sticks will be provided.
