During more than two decades of research into the how and why of being human, Agustín Fuentes, Ph.D., has published more than one hundred academic articles and book chapters. He has chased monkeys, apes, and humans in the jungles and cities of Asia, the mountains of Morocco, and the streets of Gibraltar. He has explored evolution and examined people’s daily routines across the globe. His recent books include Race, Monogamy, and Other Lies They Told You: Busting Myths about Human Nature (U of California), Conversations on Human Nature(s) (Routledge), and The Creative Spark: How Imagination Made Humans Exceptional (Dutton). He holds B.A. (1989), M.A. (1991), and Ph.D. (1994) degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. Currently, he is a National Geographic explorer and professor and the chair of the Department of Anthropology at the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana.
