Today: Blood Rising: Painting the Lost Women of Juarez

On September 27th at 5 p.m. in Rodman, Hall Brian Maguire, the Irish artist whose portraits of the murdered women of Juarez, Mexico, will come for a showing of “Blood Rising,” an intimate documentary of his attempt to raise awareness about the disappeared women of Juarez. After a 30-minute screening, Maguire will be available for a talkback about the documentary, his work, and the relationship between art and politics.

Presented by the Peace, Justice, and Human Rights Program of John Carroll University with the assistance of Irish American Archives Society and the Mayo Society of Greater Cleveland and the support of the Irish American Charitable Foundation. Other co-sponsors are forthcoming.
