1000+ Cranes: Celebration of Life: Presented by CSDI

Now through November 9 you can visit the D.J. Lombardo Center Atrium to “look up” to see 1000+ Cranes flying over you.

This installation took five years to complete and was made possible by the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion professional and student staff and partners across campus: we THANK YOU for your contributions!

According to Japanese folklore, anyone with the patience and commitment to fold 1,000 paper cranes will be granted their most desired wish, because they have exhibited the cranes’ loyalty and recreated their beauty.

Our hope as a department is for peace and unity on our campus amidst these divisive times at our University, our city, our state, our country, and our world. The project aims to also challenge you to reflect on how you are (or are not) contributing to (re)building community and peace on and off campus.
