Were you the first in your family to graduate from college and/or graduate school?
If so, you were a first-generation college student.
Come to celebrate the end of the semester and of the academic year with other first-generation faculty, staff, and students. Let’s take the occasion to celebrate the first-generation students who graduate, look back to our accomplishments and plan for next year.
Where: The Underground (the space between the dining room and the In-between cafeteria)
When: May 3rd, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 pm,
We will provide a food voucher for JCU cafeteria.
Please RSVP to Carlo DeMarchi at cdemarchi@jcu.edu
All first-gen staff and faculty are welcome to the event!
The First@JCU campaign is an initiative of the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of Academic Advising which aims to engage, enlighten, and connect first-generation undergraduate and graduate students through a campus-wide awareness campaign. We also want to connect first-generation students with current faculty and staff who were the first to graduate college/graduate school.
