Come for the pizza, stay for the auditions!
Theatre at John Carroll is having an informational pizza party on Thursday, September 5 at 6PM in the Marinello Little Theatre (above the bookstore in the Lombardo Student Center.) Come meet officers of the Little Theatre Society, the directors of this season’s plays and other theatre enthusiasts.
Auditions for the Fall production, Why Torture is Wrong and the People Who Love Them by Christopher Durang, directed by JCU alum Dan Simpson, will be held on September 5 from 7-9PM, September 6 from 5-7pm, and Monday, September 16 (not the following Monday but a week later) from 7-9PM, all in Marinello Little Theatre. Production dates are November 14, 15, 16 at 7:30PM and November 17 at 2PM, also in Marinello.
When a girl takes her new husband home to meet her parents, her father, the leader of a shadowy group of inept spies, immediately assumes he’s a terrorist. The comedy of errors that ensues involves a mother who keeps talking about theatre productions she’s seen, a creepy Internet reverend, and a Loony Tunes Cartoon-quoting bad guy. Actors needed: 3 men, 3 women, 1 flexible.
Please note: this production has mature language and content. Copies of the scenes used for auditions are available by contacting Karen Gygli at kgygli@jcu.edu. Looking forward to meeting you over pizza!
