Medical Alert (E-Cigarettes, Vaping, Juuling)

The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has an ongoing investigation concerning health risks for those using e-cigarettes/vaping/juuling. The CDC has requested stopping the use of any form of e-cigarette products. The recommendation states that no one should buy these products off the street (e.g., e-cigarette products with THC, other cannabinoids) and should not modify e-cigarette products or add any substances to these products that are not intended by the manufacturer, as these pose a higher risk for illness from the e-cigarette products.

If you use e-cigarette products, monitor yourself for these symptoms: cough, shortness of breath, chest pain. Promptly seek medical attention if you have concerns about your health.

If you have any questions or concerns please call the JCU Student Health and Wellness Center at 216-397-4349 or the local poison control center at: 1-800-222-1222.
