The 13th annual Week of Islamic Art and Culture at JCU is March 9-13.
MARCH 9 Anna Moreland, Ph.D. from Villanova University will give a talk based on her upcoming book Muhammad Reconsidered: A Christian Perspective on Islamic Prophecy?
MARCH 11 A showing of the film Enemy of the Reich: The Noor Inayat Khan Story.
MARCH 12 A showing of the film Who’s Next? which examines the effects of hate speech and bigotry on the lives of Muslim-Americans.
MARCH 13 A special night of Sufi music with the Boston based Noor Ensemble for Spiritual Music. This group of international musicians will perform classical and contemporary Sufi music from Morocco and elsewhere in the Islamic world. Prior to the performance, Aaron Harun Spevack of Harvard University will present an overview of the Islamic and Sufi musical tradition.
All events will take place at beginning at 7pm in the Donahue Auditorium of the Dolan Center for Science and Technology.
