The Writing Center is Available During the Online Period
Although the Writing Center’s physical spaces will be closed, our services will continue. The Writing Center is available for all JCU students, faculty, and staff, just as before. The only difference is that all consultations will take place online through Zoom and Google Docs. We will give students the option to request synchronous sessions (video chat with a consultant over Zoom) or asynchronous (review of a paper through Google Docs where a consultant adds comments, but the student need not be online as well).
Students can request appointments as before, by emailing the Writing Center (writingcenter@jcu.edu) or filling out a Google Form (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScBi5BsKdr8-pY4PffQuG3QWBSvd_kSrlNjBNL3AEsVFB72VA/viewform).
As a team, it is our priority that the Writing Center will continue to provide support for students while they are working on papers remotely. We wish you the best of luck during the next few weeks and hope that you and your families stay healthy!
