Did you know that Cleveland is home to the only American book award specifically for works addressing racism and diversity? And did you know that we are lucky to have two Anisfield-Wolf fellows right here at JCU?
The prestigious Anisfield-Wolf Book Award celebrates its 85th annual awards ceremony on October 1st in a reimagined, pandemic-friendly format: an hour-long documentary aired at 8 p.m. EST on WVIZ/ideastream. It will be hosted by Jury Chair Henry Louis Gates Jr. and feature visits to the hometowns of this year’s four awardees: historian Eric Foner, poet Ilya Kaminsky, scholar Charles King and novelist Namwali Serpell.
