Writing Across Carroll Workshop | The Role of Genre in Assignment Design

Writing Across Carroll is back!

Please join us on Tuesday, September 28, 12:30-1:30 for
Can I Use “I” in This?: The Role of Genre in Assignment Design

This first WAC workshop of the semester will explore the benefits of how articulating the genre of your writing assignment can help lead students to stronger writing. We will discuss how genre awareness can build on what students experience in EN 125 and how it can lead to stronger awareness of how writing works in your discipline.

Please send along writing ideas you have developed which you think fit well with the goals of the workshop (to Tom Pace by September 25). This will be a peer-to-peer workshop, with a focus on sharing ideas and challenges.

This workshop will be in-person in Dolan 202/203, but you can use the Zoom link below if you wish to log in remotely.

Please complete this RSVP form here no later than September 25 so that we can order boxed lunches: https://forms.gle/Zn4NedDmTiQS8QMb8.
