Today: Library Renovation Update & Reminders

Grasselli Library and Breen Learning Center Renovation, Updates and Reminders for Fall 2024 – please pardon our dust & noise & limited space.

The library anticipates re-opening the Breen side (the side closest to Dolan) very soon. In anticipation of re-opening these spaces, we have been moving and rearranging furniture. If you visit the library over the next few days, please be aware that many of the desks and tables have moved and seating will be limited. We apologize for the very temporary inconvenience.

If you are seeking a quiet places space to study this semester, here are some suggested locations around campus:
CMLC Center for Global Languages and Cultures – OC101
CMLC Faculty Library – OC139
Education Department Lounge – SIH 301
O’Malley Center Atrium
Dolan Science Center Atrium

In addition to these spaces on campus, the nearby public libraries also have tables and study/meeting rooms. Contact the individual library for detailed information:
Cuyahoga County Public Library, Beachwood branch: https://cuyahogalibrary.org/branches/beachwood
Cuyahoga County Public Library, South Euclid-Lyndhurst branch: https://cuyahogalibrary.org/branches/south-euclid-lyndhurst
Heights Library, University Heights branch: https://heightslibrary.org/locations/university-heights/
Shaker Heights Public Library, Bertram Woods branch: https://shakerlibrary.org/about-us/contact-us/locations-hours/

During the renovation, we ask for your patience. Please note:
* Construction continues on the entire 1st floor/bottom level of the building. Noise levels may be high at some times. The Help Desk is providing ear plugs (just ask!). The construction team is scheduled to work daily from 6:00am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday.
* If you can’t find what you need, ask for assistance at the Help Desk. We can request books and articles for you from other libraries via OhioLINK and Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
* No access to the University Archives.
* Study Space is limited.

Our online collection of 250+ databases (containing ebooks, journals, video, images and more) is always available (both on and off campus) at lib.jcu.edu
