“Educating Cleveland’s Catholic Women 1940-Present”

Dr. Brenda Wirkus has taught at John Carroll University for over 30 years. In addition to serving as a Professor of Philosophy and Director of the Master of Arts in Humanities Program, Dr. Wirkus was the recipient of the 2012 Distinguished Faculty Award. Her areas of expertise include social philosophy, 19th century philosophy and feminism.
Dr. Wirkus will talk about the religious orders responsible for the education of Cleveland’s Catholic Women and how they have evolved over the past 60+ years.
