In our ongoing efforts to reduce our overall campus electricity usage and peak demand during the summer months, the Facilities Department will conduct an in-house audit of our Peak Load Limiting and Demand Response Plans today, beginning at 12:30 p.m. The audit is expected to take no longer than one hour.
During the audit:
– Emergency generators will be started and provide power to all equipment on emergency circuits.
– Air conditioning will shut off in Bernet, Millor, Murphy, Rodman, Administration, Administration Annex, O’Malley, Library, Stadium, and RecPlex.
– Rooms that are not utilized during the summer will be set to unoccupied mode.
– Common area lighting will be reduced to emergency lighting levels in areas where safety is not compromised.
Backup batteries have been installed in ITS closets to maintain connectivity to JCU classroom servers. Temperature and ventilation in Dolan Science Center research and classroom labs will be maintained as required.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mitch Tabol, Director of Physical Plant, at extension 4312.
