As part of the Dr. Shirley Seaton Cultural Awareness Series, the Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion invite you to join us in welcoming Robert Roche to campus on Tuesday November 15, 2011. Roche will speak at 7 pm in the LSC Conference Room.
As an American Indian with a successful and diverse career in teaching Native American history and contemporary issues, Roche will be sharing a historical perspective on Native American life. Currently, he serves as the Executive Director of the American Indian Education Center (http://www.aiecc.net/index.htm).
His talk will include a history of governmental treatment of Native Americans, with a special focus on issues in Ohio. He will talk about attempts at extermination, sterilization and treaty violations.
