The annual employee performance evaluation process for exempt-level (salaried) employees will open on September 5, 2017 and continue through October 31, 2017. Please observe the October 31, 2017 deadline and help the University achieve a 100% on-time completion rate.
To kick-off this process, all exempt employees will be sent an email notice with a link to begin their annual evaluation. Similar to last year, the automated annual performance evaluation form may also be accessed through Banner Self-Service.
Every employee deserves an opportunity to receive honest and specific feedback regarding their performance as it relates to the University Strategic Plan and its Vision, Mission and Core Values. This includes recognizing achievements and indicating opportunities for professional development that will lead to career growth. It is equally important to document specific performance expectations that were not met during the last year.
As a reminder, all non-exempt (hourly) employees receive notice to complete their annual evaluations twenty (20) days prior to their anniversary date. Non-exempt employee performance evaluations are due two weeks after their anniversary date.
Please review the following points regarding the evaluation process:
• The review process is a collaborative effort between the supervisor and employee. Supervisors are expected to provide accurate, meaningful feedback to employees under their supervision.
• Supervisors are also expected to review the employee’s job description for accuracy. Any recommended job description modifications must be reviewed and approved by Human Resources prior to implementation.
• Human Resources will conduct the following supervisory performance evaluation training sessions. During these sessions, supervisors will learn how to draft realistic performance evaluations and deliver meaningful feedback to employees. You are encouraged to attend one of the sessions prior to completing any performance evaluations:
