Do you love to read and write? What about doing service? What if there was an opportunity that combined both?
Writers in Residence is a soon to be recognized student-run organization that facilitates creative writing workshops at the local juvenile detention centers for male and female residents. Students volunteer at the facilities once a week for about 1.5-2hrs for 10-11-weeks.
The English Department will be having an info session on Thursday, September 13, at 7-8 p.m. in OC 212 for anyone who is interested in being a part of Writers in Residence, especially if you are interested in providing literary freedom and a safe space for sharing thoughts and emotions.
Food and drinks will be provided.
See you there!
