Policy for Review: Faculty Qualifications Policy

The University Committee on Administrative Policies has posted a new policy for review: the Faculty Qualifications Policy. In the past, our practice was to point to HLC’s (and Ohio’s) policies as our guiding rule for determining who is qualified to teach a particular course, but HLC has changed their expectations, and we are now required to have our own policy defining faculty qualifications. We have attempted to codify existing practices within the guidelines set by the ODHE and HLC, and the result is this policy. Faculty have had the opportunity to comment for a few weeks, and now we invite the rest of the campus community to comment on the policy proposal at https://jcu.edu/university-committees/ucadp/ucadp-polices-review

The committee will review all comments at an upcoming meeting. Responses will be sent to respondents who sign their comments. Responses to anonymous comments are posted with committee minutes in the JCU Faculty & Staff Shared Drive. The thirty-day comment period is open until DATE.
