Each year, up to five graduating seniors are selected to receive the Leadership Legacy Award in honor of their contributions to the JCU community during their time on campus. Additionally, up to two students per class year are recognized with the Outstanding Student Leader Award.

Please consider nominating students for these awards. Nominations are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 31.

Today: Announcing Additional Enrollment Opportunities for Voluntary Benefits

One of the advantages of being part of the JCU family is that our staff members have access to some innovative group benefits that are not available on an individual basis. We are pleased to partner with Combined Worksite Solutions (CWS) to offer two new voluntary benefits.

Because of additional demand, we have added three more opportunities to meet one-on-one with a representative from CWS: Thursday, March 30; Tuesday, April 4; and Thursday, April 6.

ROTC will host a blood drive on campus this week in the Murphy Room of the D.J. Lombardo Student Center from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 and Thursday, March 30.

The Office of Academic Advising has moved.

The Office of Academic Advising and Student Services relocated in January. All advising offices and the Honors Program are located in one suite, AD 125, by Kulas Auditorium.

Army ROTC Training Reminder

ROTC Cadets will be conducting training with mock weapons, marked with orange barrels. Cadets will be in a variety of military uniforms. These morning training exercises will occur between 6:30-9 a.m.

Health Professions Panel

The Pre-Health Professions Program will host a panel of John Carroll alumni health professionals on April 3, at 1 p.m., in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology, Rooms 202/203. All interested students are invited to attend.

Building Bodies in the Classroom: 3D Printers and a Comparative Anatomy Class

Please join us Wednesday, April 5, at 1 p.m. in Grasselli Library, Room 202 (the LoPresti Room) for a program on 3D printing —
the process of taking a digital model and making it a physical object. This session will review the broader implications of 3D printing technology as well as offer examples of how it is currently being used at John Carroll.

Final Scholarly Lunch for 2016-2017

Join us on Tuesday, April 4, 11:45 a.m. – 1 p.m., in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology, O’Connell Reading Room, for the next (and last) Scholarly Lunch for 2016-2017. The presentations include Matt Berg of the Department of History (“Problematic Notions of the Victim: Targets of Nazi Persecution in Vienna, 1945-1949”) and Brian Macaskill of the Department of English (“Lapidary Practice”).

On Friday, April 21, and Saturday, April 29, more than 200 JCU students, faculty, staff, and alumni will join together with members of the nine other Jesuit institutions throughout the area for a day dedicated to service and solidarity. Join over 700 participants in living the Jesuit mission of being “men and women with and for others” and sign up for this year’s Jesuit Day of Service.
