Ride for Miles

Ride for Miles, an annual noncompetitive bicycle ride raising funds for environmental and bicycling education, will be taking place on Sunday, Sept. 7. The ride is about 15 miles (80 percent of it is on divided roads) and starts and finishes at JCU. The event is open to the public.

Service & Nonprofit Internship Fair-Sept. 5

Do you have a passion for service? Are you looking for an internship at a Cleveland nonprofit organization? Do you have a service-learning requirement for a course? The Center for Service and Social Action and the Center for Career Services will host the annual “Where and With Whom is Your Heart?” Service and Nonprofit Internship Fair on Friday, Sept. 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Dolan Center for Science and Technology.

Energy Reduction Notice – Demand Response Audit

The University has been notified that we must participate in an energy reduction audit on Tuesday, Aug. 26, between the hours of 2:30 and 4 p.m. The audit is required for us to demonstrate our “load shed” capabilities for participation in a Demand Response program to reduce electric load during periods when electric demand on the grid exceeds generation capacity. All members of the campus community are asked to reduce their energy consumption wherever possible on Tuesday, Aug. 26, between the hours of 2:30 and 4 p.m.

Your New Carroll Card ID

Due to an upgrade in the campus access system, we are issuing new access control ID cards to the entire University. The only change for the card is if you live in a residence hall your ID card will allow you to access the exterior doors. Staff and faculty new ID cards will be delivered to your department in the next couple of days.

Basic Computer Skills Exam

The Basic Computer Exam will be given from June 2-August 29, 2014. You may only take this exam one time. If you are interested in studying business, you should consider taking this exam. You must also be very knowledgeable in the Microsoft Office 2010 applications.
