Today: JCU Day of Giving

JCU’s Day of Giving is here! This 1,886-minute online fundraising event begins at 4:33 p.m. on April 29th and ends at 11:59 p.m. on April 30th, 2019. The duration of the event was chosen to honor John Carroll’s founding in 1886 and to give the entire JCU community across every time zone the opportunity to participate. The goal is to rally at least 500 donors, to any designation, during this time period. Visit giveto.jcu.edu and click “Give Now” to support the campaign and promote your gift using #GiveLikeAFounder. Stop by Keller Commons between 11:00 am – 2:00 pm on April 30th to participate in Day of Giving festivities.

Join the East Asian Studies program as we welcome Izumi Mochizuki Greubel, author of A Promise to Live For, the true story of her mother’s childhood journey from northeast China to her hometown in Japan. At just 10 years old, Iku Mochizuki and her 6 year old brother traveled 340 miles alone, mostly on foot. Open to all. Holocaust Remembrance Day

JCU Hillel will be having a holocaust remembrance day ceremony on Wednesday, May 1st. The program will be at 5:00 pm in the LSC Conference room. Following the program there will be the opportunity to go to B’nai Jeshurun to hear survivors of the holocaust speak. Transportation will be provided if you are interested in going, we will depart from the Belvoir lot at 6:30pm. This will be an amazing chance to hear first hand accounts of the events of the time.
