Today: 2018 Suopis Lecture Series: Sean Webster

The Department of Political Science is proud to announce the 2018 Suopis Lecture Series. This year’s speaker, Sean Webster, is a John Carroll alumnus who graduated with a B.A. in political science and a minor in economics and currently serves as a Business Administrator for the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections. His talk, “The Future of Voting in America,” will discuss America’s historically low voter turnout, election cybersecurity, and the policy reforms available to address the future of voting. Join us on Thursday, October 4, at 5:30 p.m. in the Marinello Little Theater for a timely talk.

The Center for Student Diversity and Inclusion (CSDI) at JCU is excited to collaborate with Case Western Reserve University’s LGBT Center on “Professionals with Pride: Northeast Ohio LGBTQIA+ Collegiate Career Fair.” This event will connect employers who are intentionally, through policy and practice, LGBTQIA+ supportive with the best college/university talent in the region. Professionals with Pride will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., in the Thwing Center Ballroom, Case Western Reserve University.

Today: Northern Ireland’s Journey to Peace

All are welcome on Thursday, October 4, in Rodman Hall A, to “Northern Ireland’s Journey to Peace: A Roundtable Discussion” and the PJHR Inaugural Peace Leadership Award for Raymond Lennon. The panel will reflect on the journey to peace and our Ireland Peacebuilding Program, where students annually spend two weeks in Ireland and Northern Ireland, engaging with architects of the unfolding peace there.
