The Sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis

The sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis on July 29, 1945, was the Navy’s worst disaster at sea of the Second World War. Of the more than 800 sailors that went into the water after the Japanese torpedoes struck, only 317 survived the five-day ordeal. World War II veteran and Indianapolis survivor Dick Thelen will recount his service experiences on Wednesday, November 16, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the LSC Conference Room.

JCU Dining and International Services will celebrate the fifth annual Global Family Dinner on Thursday, November 10, presented with grant support from the Mandel Fund for Conversation and Inclusion. Come join us in tasting a variety of delicious foods recommended by our international students. This event will take place in Schott Dining Hall from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.
