Today: Retirement planning: health coverage options

As you plan for the future, do you have questions about medical coverage options after you retire? What is Medicare and when should you or your spouse enroll? What if you are already retired, do you have any health coverage options? What does the Affordable Care Act mean for retirees or soon-to-be-retirees? How can you help a family member or loved one with similar questions?

This year the Office of Human Resources is pleased to present informational sessions on retiree medical choices to help employees and their families navigate the maze of options that are available. For the upcoming sessions, we have asked Stan Sieniawski to present to the JCU community on the mechanics of retiree medical coverage with a focus on understanding Medicare, supplemental insurance and prescription drug coverage offerings. Stan was a VP of sales for Medical Mutual of Ohio for many years, and now runs his own business helping people select individual health coverage.

Please join us in the Jardine Room on Wednesday, Feb. 20, or Thursday, Feb. 21, from 1– 2 p.m. for a brief presentation followed by a Q&A session with Stan and the HR staff. All are welcome. If you are unable to attend but have interest in this topic, please contact Ryan Armsworthy by phone at extension 1576 or by email to rarmsworthy@jcu.edu anytime for more information.
