On Tuesday, January 26 from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., we will have a discussion over lunch (provided by CTL) on ways to improve student participation in class discussions. Nathan Gehlert will share some of his own ideas about how he incentivizes discussion, but we want this to be an open discussion (how apropos!), allowing everyone at the table to get the chance to share thoughts, experiences, or exercises they use. How do you get students to talk and in meaningful ways? We’d love to hear your tips over lunch.
Those interested in joining us should RSVP to Pat Hoffman (firstname.lastname@example.org) by January 20. We will meet in the CAS Dean’s Conference Room.
