Today: CDM Brown Bag Workshop: Introduction to the Kaltura Video App for Canvas

The Kaltura Video App is currently available in Canvas and will serve as the eventual replacement of ShareStream. With the Kaltura Video App, teachers, students, and staff can easily view, record, manage, edit, transcode, and deliver high-quality video that is visible on any device, at any time. Video is a proven way to increase engagement and creativity, foster a sense of community, and improve learning outcomes. The Kaltura Video App allows you to seamlessly add video to your Canvas environment to enable video assignments, lecture capture, flipped classrooms, and more!

Upon completion of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Upload existing media from their computer.
  • Add searchable captions and metadata for increased discoverability.
  • Manage videos by private library, course galleries, or shared repository.
  • Edit with in-system tools such as clipping, chaptering, and managing thumbnails.
  • Publish to a course gallery, as part of a test or assignment, in a blog, or more.
  • Migrate videos from ShareStream to Kaltura.
  • Include In-video quizzing in a Canvas course.

Two sessions of this workshop are being offered from noon-12:50 p.m.:

  • Wednesday, September 7, 2016
  • Friday, September 9, 2016
