Coffee Break Series: Forensics, Gender Studies, and Africana Studies

Hello Friends and Colleagues,

This year the Center for Teaching and Learning will be hosting a series of informal discussions about teaching topics of shared interest. The idea is to gather together and simply share ideas over coffee and cookies: How do you approach this teaching topic? What are your major themes? Any sources or films you’d recommend to your colleagues?

In addition to sharing tips, this might also be a good way to find potential partners for integrated classes. You might find that there are some fascinating opportunities for interdisciplinary dialogue.

The 1st Coffee Break will be about Forensics. We will meet in BR 32 (basement of Boler). It will be on Thursday, September 22, 3:30-4:30 p.m. R.S.V.P. to Patricia Hoffman: phoffman@jcu.edu by September 16.

The 2nd Coffee Break will be about Gender Studies. We will meet on Monday, October 3, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the CAS Conference Room. R.S.V.P. to Patricia Hoffman: phoffman@jcu.edu by September 28.

The 3rd Coffee Break will be about Africana Studies. We will meet on Monday, November 14, 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the CAS Conference Room. R.S.V.P. to Patricia Hoffman: phoffman@jcu.edu by November 9.

Hope to see you there,
Rodney
