Students from ALL majors and all grades who are strong writers and communicators are invited to enroll in EN 290, Tutoring Writing across Contexts. The course examines the theories and practices that inform writing center work, and includes a practicum component within the JCU Writing Center. Those who complete the course receive consideration for a paid position in our Writing Center, but becoming a consultant is NOT a requirement.
Currently, 10 spots in the course are open; regardless of your major or intended area of concentration, the course is an enlightening and beneficial look at how tutoring benefits students.
If you would like to take the course (or if you know someone who would like to take it or would be a successful consultant), please contact Writing Center Director Maria Soriano at firstname.lastname@example.org.
