Residence Halls Closing for Winter Break

As we approach Finals Week and Winter Break, we wanted to remind you that residence halls will close for Winter Break on Friday, December 16, at 7 p.m. and will re-open Saturday, January 14, 2017, at noon.

For more information on closing procedures for Winter Break, please speak with a Resident Assistant or view the bulletin board in your hall. You can also visit our Office of Residence Life website.

24-hour Quiet Hours began in Residence Halls Saturday, December 10, at midnight and continue through Friday, December 16, at 7 p.m. This means “library quiet” (including whispering in the hallways, stairwells, and bathrooms) so that all students can study effectively for finals.

When halls close at 7 p.m. on December 16, all residents who are not approved to remain in the residence halls will be required to leave.

If you are changing rooms on Saturday, December 17, you have been approved to stay overnight on Friday and do not need to seek any additional permission to stay. If you are changing rooms or leaving the institution, you need to sign up for a time to check out with your RA.

Health and Safety Checks will be conducted in all residence hall rooms during the Winter Break closing.

Please remember that facilities may walk through your space over Winter Break to conduct work.

Contact the Office of Residence Life with any additional questions.
