Announcing “Rant on the Rails: Thursdays at Jake’s” a new interdisciplinary occasional series covering important issues at the local, national, and international level.
The idea behind the series is to select different topics of interest for the community where civic discourse and conversation emerges sparked by panel sessions, guest lectures, Q&A, or any number of other conversational modalities.
Our first event will take place on Thursday, November 16, at 5 p.m., at Jake’s. Jake’s is just a short walk away from campus, underneath Pizzazz. We will offer light appetizers to guests; to begin, buy yourself a drink and pull up a chair.
The topic this time is “War in Korea?” Faculty close to the issue will begin the dialogue, and then we will open it up to broader debate from the community. We will also solicit the crowd for any suggestions you have for future topics for this series.
The event is sponsored by the Woefl Seminar in Public Policy and the Department of Political Science: jcu.edu/politicalscience.
