Today: Make it Taste Good! Staff Council cooking class with Food Network Star Jyll Everman

Join Staff Council Wednesday, May 20 from 4-5 PM for a cooking class with Food Network Star: Chef Jyll Everman.

We will cook three recipes alongside our famous chef: Shaved Veggie Salad, Tortellini, and Chocolate Pot de Creme

After a 2 month stint competing on Food Network’s Food Network Star, Jyll quickly realized she loved teaching on camera! Jyll’s approach to cooking resides in her personal acronym M.I.T.G: Make It Taste Good! After professionally cooking for 12 years, Jyll is armed with tools, techniques, and tricks to teach the home cook how to make delicious food without the stress.

Pasta Grocery List:

1 20 oz package refrigerated cheese tortellini (*OR DRIED TORTELLINI)
3 Tbs butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp Italian seasoning
3 Tbs flour
1 cup milk
3/4 cup heavy cream
1 can (14 oz) petite diced tomatoes (undrained)
Pinch red pepper flakes
3 large handfuls baby spinach
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese
3 links pre-cooked Italian Sausage Links, sliced into 1/2 inch slices

Salad Grocery List:

1 bag baby greens
1 large carrot
1/2 cup sliced almonds (*OR ANY PREFERRED NUTS)
1 cup cherry tomatoes (*OR FRESH WHOLE TOMATO, CHOPPED)
1 wedge parmesan
Lemon
Olive oil
Dijon
Salt and pepper

Ingredients for the desert:

2 eggs
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 cup heavy cream
salt
