Lessons of the Armenian Genocide: A Talk by Peter Balakian

Hitler is said to have justified his murderous plans for world domination and genocide by saying, “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?”

However, the Armenians never stopped telling their story. Pulitzer Prize winning author Peter Balakian is one of those voices. Balakian will be giving a lecture on “The Lessons of the Armenian Genocide” on Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 at 7:00PM in the Donahue Auditorium John Carroll University.

The event is sponsored by the Peace, Justice, and Human Rights program, the Armenian Cultural Garden of Cleveland, with co-sponsorship from the Department of English, the Department of History, the Department of Sociology and Criminology, the Department of Political Science, Campus Ministry, and the Center for Service Learning and Social Action.

The event is free and open to the public. Please contact Dr. Philip Metres (pmetres@jcu.edu) if you have any questions at 216-556-1101.
