IRB Changes

The IRB (human subjects compliance committee) rolled out a new IRB application form this month. Beginning immediately, the new form is required for faculty, staff, and student human subjects research projects.

The new form is a Microsoft Word file with fillable and expandable fields. This form can be used easily on a Mac or PC, but it can’t be used on an iPad or tablet and shouldn’t be used as a Google Doc. Please visit the JCU IRB website to download the form. https://www.jcu.edu/research/irb

Student Advisors: if you will be advising a student researcher, your student must email you their completed form and documents. Faculty will be responsible for thoroughly reviewing the student’s application and submitting it to the IRB Office (irb@jcu.edu). This email will serve as your “signature” of approval.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact Carole Krus at ckrus@jcu.edu
