Attention all current COM 1251 Students!

Do you enjoy public speaking?
Do you want to use your talents to compete for a cash prize?
Are you interested in taking part of a JCU tradition that dates to 1916?

Sign up for the Spring 2024 Public Speaking Contest!

Presented by the Tim Russert Department of Communication

First prize – $250
Second prize – $100
Third prize – $50

The competition features competitive speeches on any theme. YES, you are
allowed to use the informative speech you presented in class and no additional
research is required. The speech should be approximately six minutes in length.
A preliminary round will be held on Wednesday, March 27th at 7:30 PM.
The top speakers from that round will be invited to the final event on Wednesday,
April 10, 2024.

COM 1251 instructor’s name to Dr. Brent Brossmann at brossmann@jcu.edu.
