Water Project

Did you know that every 20 seconds a child dies due to lack of water or water illnesses? The students of TRS 231-51 will be selling livestrong wristbands in the LSC Atrium from noon-1 p.m. on Monday, April 28. All the proceeds from the wristbands and donations are going to Wine to Water, a nonprofit organization to purchase water filters for a village in the Phillipines.

JCU Library is pleased to announce the performance of artist/poet/entertainer Ray McNiece. McNiece will perform Tuesday, April 29, at 7 p.m. in the Den at Grasselli Library. McNiece will be accompanied by Nancy Redd on flute and vocals.

Health Information Technology Camp for High School Juniors and Seniors

JCU will host a Health Information Technology Camp for rising high school juniors and seniors interested in healthcare, computer science, or technology from July 7 to 18. The camp’s curriculum features hands-on problem solving with computer science faculty, physicians, and experts in the healthcare IT industry.

On Thursday, April 24, beginning at 12:30 p.m., PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and the Boler School of Business will be hosting a webinar on women and leadership. The event is part of “Aspire to Lead: The PwC Women’s Leadership Series,” which includes a number of programs and workshops hosted by PwC that are designed to provide college students with the tools to help you build your leadership skills. Our event will feature a webcast with special guest speaker Sheryl Sandberg, Facebook’s COO.

ECSC Awards for JCU Neuroscience Students

At the 68th Annual Eastern Colleges Science Conference (ECSC) held at Marist College in New York on April 5, 2014, Rachael Libertin ’14 received an Award of Excellence for the Outstanding Research Paper in Health Science, Anthony Lytle ’14 received an Award of Excellence for the Outstanding Research Paper in Cellular and Molecular Biology, and Ijaza Saadat ’14 received an Award of Excellence for the Outstanding Research Paper in Psychology. In addition, Christopher Benhatzel ’14 received an Award of Excellence for the Outstanding Poster Presentation in Heath Science.
