Student Volunteer Opportunity: Fatima Fun Day!

On Wednesday, June 25, Fatima Family Center’s Day Camp Program will visit John Carroll for their annual Field Day sponsored by the Center for Service and Social Action and the Office of Mission and Identity. Events will range from relay races to the ropes course. Fatima Family Center’s Day Camp program provides activities and opportunities for approximately 100 children age 5-12. Approximately 25 volunteers are needed to facilitate the field day events.

10th Annual Breeding Bird Surveys: Help!

The Audubon Society of Greater Cleveland is holding their 10th annual breeding bird surveys of the Novak sanctuary (both east and west of Townline Road) and the Aurora sanctuary in June…starting at 5:45 a.m. (need to be on trail by 6 a.m.). Yeah, we know: that’s pretty early. Much of the bird detection is done by ear, and we leave at the early time because the birds are most vocal early. The surveys typically last around two-three hours.

To support JCU’s commitment to sustainability, the Facilities Department will test the energy conservation plan Friday afternoon, May 30, around 12:30 p.m. Some non-critical lighting and air conditioning will be turned off for about two hours, and temperatures will increase.
