Today: Location Change – Building Bodies in the Classroom: 3D Printers and a Comparative Anatomy Class

3D printing is the process of taking a digital model and making it a physical object. This session will review the broader implications of 3D printing technology and offer examples of how it is being used at John Carroll.

Today: Student Discussion on Women and Gender in Islam

Have you seen a female student with a headscarf on campus and wondered why she wears it? Wondered if any of the stereotypes you’ve heard about Islam are true? Come join the Muslim students on campus to talk about women and gender in Islam. The panel discussion will be held in the D.J. ‘Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike’ this weekend

The Tim Russert Department of Communication and Theatre Arts presents “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike” by Christopher Durang, which continues this weekend, April 7 and 8, at 7:30 p.m. and April 9, at 2 p.m. in Kulas Auditorium. This comedy won the Tony Award for Best Play and the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Play in 2013.

Lenten Concert Features Cleveland Orchestra Quartet

Please join us on Saturday, April 8, at 4 p.m. in Saint Francis Chapel for a Lenten Concert: “The Seven Last Words of Christ” by Franz Joseph Haydn. This musical work for string quartet will feature members of our city’s renowned Cleveland Orchestra. The concert is free and open to the public.

Mail and Copy Centers Closing at 4 p.m. Friday

The JCU Mail and Copy Centers will close at 4 p.m. on Friday, April 7, for a departmental function. The Copy Center will have drop-off services only, available from 3 to 4 p.m. The Mail Center recommends that mail be brought down by 2:30 p.m. to ensure that it will go out the same day.

World Union of Jesuit Alumni Global Congress Coming to JCU

Did you know that Rev. Pedro Arrupe, S.J., first spoke of becoming “men [and women]” for others at the 1973 World Union of Jesuit Alumni (WUJA) gathering in Spain? Did you also know that John Carroll University will host the 2017 WUJA Global Congress from June 28-July 2, the first time the event will be held in North America?

I-Core Students Who Have Taken TRS101

Faculty are voting this week on potential modifications to the Theology & Religious Studies I-Core requirement.
If you already have completed the TRS Core, this change will not affect you, so you can stop reading now.
If you are following the D-Core, this will not affect you either, so again you can stop reading.
An announcement appeared on 3/24 and 3/31 that advised I-Core students who have not begun the JH-TRS sector of the Core. Please refer back to those announcements if you fall in this category and, again, you can stop reading this.
