Graduate Students: Summer and Fall 2017 Graduation Application Deadlines

Graduate Students: If you haven’t already done so, the deadline to submit a summer (August 31, 2017) graduation application was February 15. Applications are still being accepted with a $25 late fee. The deadline to submit a fall (January 14, 2018) graduation application is Monday, July 10, 2017. Applications will be available after that date with a $25 late fee.
You can access the “Formal Application For Degree” through the Graduate Studies website (www.jcu.edu/graduate).

Palm Sunday Masses at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m.

We will have Palm Sunday Mass in Saint Francis Chapel at 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. this Sunday, April 9. We will again be distributing Eco-Palms, which are harvested in an ecologically sustainable way, and which give a fair return to the farmers involved in production.

JCU Women’s Club Volleyball Host Tri-Match

Show your support for the John Carroll Women’s Club Volleyball Team on Sunday, April 9, from 1 to 6 p.m. in the DeCarlo Varsity Gym. The team will be playing in a tri-match against Cleveland State’s and University of Akron’s women’s club volleyball teams. A bake sale and t-shirt sale ($10 per shirt) will be held at the scrimmage to support the JCU team’s trip to the National Club Volleyball Tournament in Kansas City, Missouri.

Today: Become a SWAT Leader for Incoming First-Year Students

Interested in welcoming the newest members of the John Carroll to campus in August? Become a SWAT Leader. SWAT Leaders (Streak Week Assistance Team) help first-year students move into their residence halls in August and then help them navigate Streak Week, the week of activities prior to the start of classes. SWAT Leaders receive multiple benefits, including early move-in to your residence hall room. Applications are due on Friday, April 7.

Final Day for Celebration of Scholarship Paper and Panel Sessions, Art in Grasselli Library

The last paper and panel sessions in this year’s Celebration of Scholarship take place today. Complete an evaluation form at each paper/panel session you attend for a chance to win Pizzazz gift cards. Visit Grasselli Library and view the art works created by our own students, faculty, and staff!

The Environmental Issues Group will be meeting on Thursday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m. in OC25. New members are encouraged to attend as we will be discussing a variety of things having to do with the local and national environment.

Today: Russert Festival – Photography Contest

The Sixth Annual Tim Russert Photography Contest award ceremony is today, Thursday, April 6, at 5:30 p.m. in the O’Malley Center Atrium. This year’s theme is “Lessons of Life,” from Tim Russert’s book, “Big Russ & Me.” He wrote about the endless food in the cafeteria, booking concerts and speakers, protests, and Mass on the Quad. Come see the lessons and memories your fellow John Carroll family have captured and will remember forever.
