Applied Ethics Projects Proposal Deadline: May 1

The proposal deadline for Applied Ethics fall 2017 projects is Monday, May 1. As in past years, both faculty and student projects are eligible for Applied Ethics grants. Collaborative projects and multi-disciplinary/ interdisciplinary projects are encouraged. Individual projects are not the main focus of Applied Ethics grants.

Become a Host Family for an International Student

As we near the end of the spring semester, it is already time to think about the Class of 2021. JCU’s international class is growing with each day and we need host families to help welcome them to our campus. As a host family, the required time commitment is very little. New international students will arrive August 15 and 16. We ask that host families, at minimum, provide transportation to shopping so that students can buy necessary items and help them to set up their dorm rooms by August 17.

The U.S.-Mexico Border Immersion, LASA, and Catholic Relief Services student groups have joined together to educate our community on the pressing humanitarian issues and dangers that immigrants face while crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. Each of the 322 crosses on the Quad represents one person who has died crossing the border in the past year. Join in to learn more in this series called “People Over Politics” —
