ROTC will host a blood drive on campus this week, Wednesday, March 29, and Thursday, March 30, in the Murphy Room of the D.J. Lombardo Student Center.

Important: Biology BL230 and Lab Human A& P Requires Chair Permission

If you plan to take BL 230/L Human Anatomy & Physiology during fall 2017, please be aware that enrolling requires chair permission. This course is a pre-req for many allied health professional programs (DDS, PA, PT, AA, nursing, optometry, etc.). It is not intended for pre-medical students. Preference will be given to 2018 graduates.
You must contact Department Chair, Rebecca Drenovsky, Ph.D., (rdrenovsky@jcu.edu) by Friday, March 31. If you do not e-mail this information by the deadline, you are unlikely to receive a seat in the course.

How to Build a Model for Peace: MindLeaps – The Story of Dance

Join social entrepreneur, Rebecca Davis, founder of MindLeaps, an international NGO working in post-conflict countries, Monday, April 3, at 7 p.m. in Rodman A.

MindLeaps is based in the U..S. and works in post-conflict and developing countries, including Rwanda and Bosnia-Herzegovina, to permanently decrease the number of street children. MindLeaps runs a unique three-phase model that helps out-of-school youth transition from the street to formal education.

SUPB Cosmic Bowling

Today: STEMM Peer Mentors Wanted for the Choose Ohio First Program

Are you interested in being part of team to mentor freshmen and transfer students who have received a Choose Ohio First scholarship? This is a paid campus position reporting to Rebecca Drenovsky, Ph.D., Choose Ohio First program director.

Peer mentors will guide incoming and transfer students interested in STEMM* majors as they navigate social and academic life on campus during their first year at JCU by participating in regular cohort activities, sharing their own experience, and offering guidance on study skills, time management, semester and career path planning, and life beyond the classroom. Today: The Art of Culture Shock Art Contest

As part of “The Art of Culture Shock: Native Americans at the Intersection of Contemporary American Society” workshop, and to learn about many diverse cultures in the contemporary United States, including those of Native Americans, there will be an art contest. The contest will focus on the intersection between JCU students’ personal and cultural identities.Entries will be displayed in the Muldoon Atrium of the Dolan Center for Science and Technology during the “Art of Culture Shock” event on Monday, March 27.

Today: Submit to the Celebration of Scholarship Art Exhibit

There’s still time to submit art work to the Celebration of Scholarship Art Exhibit! Up to three works may be submitted. Submit one application for each work. We will accept all forms of visual media, watercolor, photo, oil, acrylic, pencil, etc., for this juried show.
