Provost/AVP Search: Listening Sessions

The Provost/AVP Search Committee will hold listening sessions with members of the campus community, where we will take questions and suggestions related to the search. The first session will take place on Thursday, September 27, 3-4 p.m., in the LSC Conference Room. A second session will be held on Monday, October 1, 2-3 p.m., in the LSC Conference Room.

Mock Border Wall Week: Build Solidarity, Not Walls

From September 24-28 Students for Social Justice will be hosting a mock border wall on campus. There will be two sections of fencing: one outside of the student center and one in front of the library. Our goal is to inform the campus about issues with our immigration system and to start a conversation about how we can join in solidarity with immigrants.

Today: Undergrads: September 20 is the 2019 Graduation Application Deadline

Seniors, if you have not already done so, apply now on Banner Web if you intend to graduate after completing the Fall 2018 (January 2019), Spring 2019 (May 2019), or Summer 2019 (August 2019) semester. The deadline to apply is next Thursday, September 20. The application will still be available after September 20, but students who apply after the deadline will be charged a $25 late fee.

Today: HR Training Series: Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and Other Privacy Requirements

This session will highlight the legal requirements under FERPA and other laws regarding disclosure of student records, including when and how disclosure is permissible. The session will include a discussion of student records issues that staff and faculty may encounter, including, responding to requests for information from third parties and parents; handling class assignments; addressing student conduct issues; and providing references for students. Career Chats provides an opportunity for students to meet with a Career Services advisor to discuss any career-related decisions. From academic major selection or resume reviews, to career options, internships, and interviewing, this program provides easy access to assistance and conversation with the Center for Career Services. Career Chats are held every Thursday from 2-4 p.m. at the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion (CSDI) located on the 2nd floor of the D.J. Lombardo Student Center (above the bookstore).
